Night Flying Angel

Got kids in bed last night & sat down to paint for awhile. I finished this one with a different crackle paint than I usually use & I'm not as happy with it. The crackles are too big. I like the other one that gives me really tiny fine crackles. I better go on a crackle paint hunt today & cross my fingers I find the one I want. DARN! ...you know all know how I HATE the art store! LOL

  2. the one I like that is truly "one step" is by Deco Art. I've only found it at Joann's. My other crackle paint you brush over acrylic base coat, let dry, then paint over with another color & it crackles. That's the one I used here & it does big crackles. Don't like it so much. I also didn't want two layers of paint so when my painting was done, I did a layer of gloss varnish, let it dry & then covered with crackle paint. It crackled just like when you do two layers of paint without adding another color. I'm going to go hunt some down today & let you know what I found.

  3. have you tried the tim holtz crackle paint...they come in colors but I read you can use the rock candy clear one just to give a crackle look....haven't tried yet...gotta get one....I've tried the tim holtz black one and didn't work for me...I have no luck with crackle look...

  4. i have several colors of the tim holtz crackle but it is so thick I don't use it much. Sometimes on the edge of something. It's pretty expensive for the size bottle. The ArtDeco clear one I use is only about $2 for a much bigger bottle.
